Simple Ways to Change People’s Lives for the Better

how to change people's lives for the better

Humans are innately social beings. We have the need to interact with others. Several times in your life you will meet people who will inspire you and motivate you to become a better version of yourself. Once someone has touched your life, you will feel the need to touch the life of others. This can be referred to as paying it forward. If someone inspires you, you don’t return the favor by inspiring him in return. You pay the debt by motivating someone else. Below are a few tips on how you can be an inspiration.

Care

The first step to inspiring people is to convince them that your care for them is genuine and straight from the heart. Doing so, however, is not that easy especially with someone you are not even close with. You should start by letting your words express your concern. Simply asking them how they are doing can be enough of a start. If you think they look troubled, go asked them if they have a problem. Then, you should follow it up with small acts of kindness. The more that you show you care, the higher the chances that he will open up to you. Once you break down his defenses, you can start encouraging and motivating him.

Show Enthusiasm

Be enthusiastic in everything that you do. Even when everyone else feels down and troubled, be that beacon of light and lift their spirits with your smile. As cliché as it may sounds, enthusiasm does rub off of people. Smile and always be full of positive energy. Inspire people with good vibes.

Earn trust

When a person opens up to you, he will likely tell you things he doesn’t normally share with others. This means that he is giving you his trust so make sure that you earn his trust. If he tells you that you should net tell anyone else about something, do so. You should also be able to distinguish between stuff that he does not mind others knowing. He should not need to tell you each time to keep something a secret. If he knows you are not a blabbermouth, he will feel more comfortable sharing things with you. This will lead to you getting to know him more. The more you know him, the easier it will be to think of things that can inspire him.

Mellow Down on Criticism

Don’t criticise everything that he does. You should know when and when not to provide constructive criticism there are times when a person is so down he desperately needs to hear something uplifting. And when you do think it is the right time, make sure you do not sound insulting as it may make him reluctant to opening up to you in the future.
